Four means fun! | Calgary children’s photographer

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

These 4 kids ALWAYS leave me smiling. They are so great for photo sessions and they are so cute!! And Miss M is turning into such a beautiful young lady! These are my friend’s kids… and I love them. They are fabulous. They make you want to have tons of kids…… but I won’t ;)

It was a VERY serious session.

There was NO laughing.

There was absolutely NO messin around. That’s just not how I roll ;)

And there were a lot of really great, super awesome pictures. Pictures that prove 4 kids means a ton of fun!

And now I leave you with one of my faves….. from SUCH an awesome session :) Thanks guys!

And one more :) | Calgary family photographer

This is even WORSE! My sister has been waiting on these photos for over a year!

When it comes to pictures of family… boy I am a true slacker. Not that I want to be, they always get put on the to do list, but they are the one thing I never seem to get to.

I made it a priority last week to it and finish up before I was fearful for my life! No really, I feel awful. All I can say is I have no family pictures printed up for the last 2 years. So really… when it comes to family, I seem to have a time problem! But I’m working on it!

These were pretty fun. I had a vision, and everyone was into it. Too bad mother nature completely ruined our party. It was a total upset of a shoot. We planned on going for sunset. And while driving out to our location, the clouds came. Not just any clouds, but dark menacing ones. It was so dark, I had my ISO jacked, and we had about 10 min before it started POURING. Like storming, crazy rain, thunder and lightning pouring. And 10 min with a newborn, two kids and two teenagers is, well, not a lot of time!!

But you can see where we were going with this….

LOL. Hilarious.

Never heard them say this once. Not ever ;)

Oh Jax, yes you are sweetie!

And so went all our games of Dutch Blitz…..

Typical. Teenager.

More typical teenager!

Keags, I can STILL hear you saying this :)

It took bout 57 photos to get one of everyone looking.

Miss you guys every.single.day. xoxoxoxo

another family shoot | Calgary family photographer

Monday, October 31st, 2011

It’s been so long since I did this shoot it is rather embarrassing to be just blogging it now! Never mind the fact she just got her pictures ;) Let’s just say it was still warmish when they were taken. And that was BEFORE the heat came!

With my trips to Wpg, I had little time to be catching. NOW it is nice to say I am caught up :) Just working away on my brother’s wedding pictures now. So I thought I would sneak in a few pictures.

SO what would 2 photographers do planning a photoshoot? Go at 3pm in the middle of summer to take family pics. And bring my crazy kids! Let’s just say the odds were mounting, and not in our favor!! Sun and crazy. Oy.

Man… I LOVE these steps!

Cool shoe shot!

I think this is so cool!! If they come out again, we are going to have to revisit this. Dion had to work the whole time they were here, so I didn’t get the chance to get our pictures done!

It is seriously so nice to hang out with kids who like having their pictures taken. Unlike my own. Mine were with us, sabotaging this whole shoot the entire time. From having to go to the bathroom when we were furthest from the bathrooms, to sitting in ant piles, to interrupting at all moments… these kids were a breath of fresh air!

a family stroll in the sunset | Calgary family photographer

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

One word. GORGEOUS.

There is a reason I tell people to book at sunset. These say it all.

Beautiful light with an amazing family…

in a gorgeous park…..

getting some family pics :)

Having some fun along the way!

We stopped on the way for just a few more couple shots…. when the light is so right, who are we to say no?

Thanks so much for the absolute pleasure of once again photographing your family!! The session was amazing, and it was so much fun to hang out again!

mini session #5!!! | Calgary family photographer

Sunday, October 16th, 2011

Well…. not really a mini ;) My friend opted for the whole 9 at her session, but was sure to book for the gorgeous sunset we were hoping for. The whole day was beautiful, sunny and warm just gorgeous out. Then just before mini #4 this crazy wind blew in and we were debating on cancelling. But we went ahead with that session and it turned out great. So we decided to go on with this session as we’d been talking about it forever.

Well. Enter clouds. Storm clouds. Sometimes, the weather just will NOT cooperate! It also cooled off, so we really just kept going and made the best of it. Even though we were both disappointed with the lack of sunset and the dark cool weather.

And it was worth it… her kids were completely angelic and we just went for it, making the best of it.  And these kids nailed it. I think after a few years of taking their pictures, they just assume the pose ;)

I always ask families to make funny faces…. just for  fun. I totally see Christmas card written ALL OVER THIS.

mini session #4 |Calgary family photographer

Another gorgeous session!! I haven’t seen D for a very long time! We were pregnant at the same time for both our seconds and met each other through a baby group. It was nice to see her and her kids again and meet her husband :) Her kids were super fun and we breezed through the shoot!

mini session #3!! | Calgary family photographer

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

I love repeat clients. Truly love. I photographed this family when she was just pregnant with their third (I didn’t even know she was), then again when baby C arrived and now it’s time for some more family fun!! Getting to know kids and watch them grow and being comfortable with everyone is something that really means a lot to me. It makes the entire session so much fun and just ties me right in with the photos. This family is so great, and their kids are amazing… it was a fun time! Even if they did get lost in the way, way, deep, sw parts of Calgary ;)

I had this idea for little Miss C… so glad mom went along with it1 she must be one of the happiest babies on the planet!

mini session #2 | Calgary family photographer

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Love this family. Love. Poor mom… every time we do a photo session one of her kids wants absolutely nothing to do with it. But we’re getting there!!! The photos turned out great… so glad we had such a gorgeous day for these shoots :)

And this one… well this one just kills me. If it were my family I would so TOTALLY be using this one as a Christmas card!!!

Mini session 1| Calgary family photographer

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Well… it’s about time I made some time for blogging!! These mini sessions were so much fun! I am so thrilled I had enough people to sign up to get a chance to try doing a series of minis in one day. It was definitely a great learning experience and it gave me a chance to meet up with some of my favorite people!!

This is mini #1!! Nothing like jumping in to mini sessions with a big fun group of kids!!

Look who’s ONE! | Calgary baby photographer

Monday, June 13th, 2011

I love that I have been around long enough to keep getting repeat customers!!! This little guy was so super sweet at his newborn session!!! I was so excited because it was the first time I got thepose and he let me take so many more!!
He was just as wonderful at his one year old session as his newborn. A bonus for mom… there were no nakey shots so there was no fear of poop ;)

Today was such a random weather day…. when I left for the session I was SURE we wouldn’t be able to do it. We were meeting at Fish Creek and when I left home is was totally storming. Thunder, lighting, and some crazy rain. But…. we decided to try and we are so happy we did!! It was beautiful at the park! No rain at all, we were actually fighting sunlight at some points. When we were leaving the thunder (and mosquitos) were rolling in. So we timed it perfectly. He is so very cute. Thanks so much for letting me spend some more time with your wonderful family!! It was a pleasure seeing you all again.

We even snuck in a cake smash… OUTDOORS!! So completely awesome. He demolished that cake :)
